How to Play Generals / Zero Hour in Windows 7 x64, (works for Vista x64 also)

Recently i installed from TFD, Generals Zero hour for some old good fights after i saw in you tube the Generals Trailer 1 at E3 that made me wanna revisit that game.

Now i am running Windows 7 x64 and after installation the program didnt run.

so here is what you should do to make it run

Make sure you have the latest DirectX 9.0c installed, you can Google it or get it from Microsoft
into your "user" directory (named with your user account yeah you know there where you see the folder my pictures, my music etc)
in there go to "My Documents"
well there after trying to run the game you would see a Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data folder.
open it.
right click and creat new empty .TXT file and rename it options.ini
copy those lines inside and Save it!

then Right Click on your Generals / Zero hour Sortcut (if you dont have make one), in widows 7 most games make there sortcuts into the "GAMES" menu in Start Menu
and in the Compatibility Tab just select Windows XP sp3 and click "Run as administrator" option too (if you are not an admin)
thats it go inside change your settings and restart the game.

Masaalah dengan "Show hidden files and folders" disebabkan VIRUS!

Salaam, korang selalu tak terjadi benda nih? selalunya akan terjadi bila orang datang cucuk hdd(hard disk drive) mereka pasal nak amik cerita ke game baru & lain2, macam wabak sars la kira, then tetiba esok bukak Folder Option, "show hidden files & folders" korang masaalah, tak boleh nak 'show' hidden files.

Aku ingat lagi dulu2, dah buntu tak dak jalan, last skali endup aku RENEW windows terus, memang gila dah aa, tapi bila dah lama2 aku pikir tak elok, aku teringat aku blaja dulu, kalu hdd yang selalu format, akan cepat membawa kepada rosak/corrupt/unreadable, so kalu you all nak hdd korang hidup lama, cari penyelesaiannya (Insyaallah akan aku jelaskan) & elakkanlah format bnyk2 kali.

so yang penting aku nak sampaikan ialah, baru2 ni com aku ada terjadi masaalah nih, aku pikir nak renew windows memang menyusahkan, then aku surf forum aku jumpa DUA JENIS cara, dekat dua forum, penyelesaiannya ialah:

Kaedah Pertama:
1. Tekan Start > Run tulis REGEDIT

2. Double click dekat HKEY_CURRENT_USER >SOFTWARE >Microsoft >Windows >CurrentVersion >Explorer >Advanced
dekat panel sebelah akan ada value dinamakan "hidden" letakkan value dia 1.


Insyallah lepas tu korang boleh guna Show hidden files and folders, kaedah ni kebanyakkannya berhasil kepada sesetengah computer, kalau tak boleh jugak, cuba kaedah ke-2.

Kaedah Kedua:
1. Masuk registry. (Start >Run tulis Regedit) Macam gambar kat atas
2. Di panel sebelah kiri akan ada HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\Software\Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Explorer \Advanced \Folder \Hidden \SHOWALL.
3. Dekat panel sebelah kanan, buang value "CheckedValue".
4. Buat DWORD baru value yang diberi nama "CheckedValue", right click dekat panel sebelah kanan dan pilih NEW -> DWORD Value dan tukarkan namanya kepada "CheckedValue".
(Pastikan type/jenisnya ialah REG_DWORD).
5. Tukarkan value data kepada 1 (0×00000001), right click dekat CheckedValue di panel sebelah kanan dan tekan modify, dan tukarkannya kepada value data 1.

Masaalah com aku dulu, aku pakai Kaedah yang ke-2 ni, Langkah2 ni insyaallah akan membolehkan korang tukar "hidden files & folders" option, yang mana berjaya tuh alhamdulillah, yang mana tak jadi, kena rujuk yang lebih pakar la.

Rujukan:
1- Show hidden files issue/problem (due to virus)
2- XP: "Show hidden files and folders" Dosen't work

Fastfile for zone 'ui' appears corrupt or unreadable (code 107.)

Salaam, maybe this problem probably occurred for some of you guys, I searched almost every forum COD5 and didn't find any solution that has to do with it, then I found this blog talking about the same problem, although his error was not the same file as mine.




So the solution here is here:
-Step 1: You have to remove the "UI"(or whatever your corrupt file is) file from the Installation Directory, and copy a new one from the original disc(you can find it by searching it), and place it at the same place, and if you success, thats great for you, and if dont, like what happend to me, you gotta go to step 2.

-Step 2: Is you got to download your file from the blog that I mention before, and replace it with the corrupt.

So then you'll get to play your new Call Of Duty 5 World At War.
